ADAPTABLE APPLES - FALL 2017 RESIDENCY ANNOUNCEMENT:

I’ve been creating pieces non-stop for my #AdaptableApples art residency in Brooklyn over the last couple months since Remi Harris and Michelle Golden reached out to me in March and tomorrow I’ve been given the opportunity to teach people about the art I create and provide them with space and materials to create something of their own for a larger on-site installation.

We’ll be kicking off the afternoon with some spoken word performances courtesy of Christian Baxter and Jemy Francillon and let ourselves be inspired by their poems while throwing paint at a photos, coffee filters, magazines, and cardboard afterwards. As a poet and artist, I often find poetry influences my mixed media paintings and vice versa. You’re invited to come create with us!!

Much thanks for Brooklyn Studios for Dance, Remi, and Michelle for providing this space and opportunity. Much love to Matt Hefferon and Ashley Mendolia for providing some kickass inspiration for me during their Adaptable Apple residencies over the summer.
