ADAPTABLE APPLES - FALL 2017 RESIDENCY ANNOUNCEMENT:
“I’ve been creating pieces non-stop for my #AdaptableApples art residency in Brooklyn over the last couple months since Remi Harris and Michelle Golden reached out to me in March and tomorrow I’ve been given the opportunity to teach people about the art I create and provide them with space and materials to create something of their own for a larger on-site installation.
We’ll be kicking off the afternoon with some spoken word performances courtesy of Christian Baxter and Jemy Francillon and let ourselves be inspired by their poems while throwing paint at a photos, coffee filters, magazines, and cardboard afterwards. As a poet and artist, I often find poetry influences my mixed media paintings and vice versa. You’re invited to come create with us!!
Much thanks for Brooklyn Studios for Dance, Remi, and Michelle for providing this space and opportunity. Much love to Matt Hefferon and Ashley Mendolia for providing some kickass inspiration for me during their Adaptable Apple residencies over the summer.”

Amanda was one of several featured artists during the launch party and Open House showcasing the luxury refurbished loft units atop the old Pearl Paint building. Amanda was chosen to participate in the pop up by dynamite real estate agent and art lover Sydney Blumstein from Blumstein Group and Corcoran Realty. Artists were granted space with temporary installations in dedicated rooms of each of the four loft units on every floor of the building while the loft units were open to the public for the Pearl Paint Open House, with Amanda’s works showcased in one of the bedrooms on easels and tabletops. Each artist’s style and chosen medium ranged from oil and acrylic paints and spray paint, to resin and gold leaf and more.
