MATH PLUS MUSIC (MATH+MUSIC)

Math Plus Music (Math+Music) is an international public art series co-founded by Marcus Miller (Marcus The Artyst), Marianna Phillips (COO of The Forcing Function), and Terry Lovette (Director of NTRFACE). The series features expert panelists, including Nobel Peace Prize winners, and talented musicians and uses art and live musical performance to creatively explore mathematical concepts.

Each event invites people to develop fresh insights, heal past trauma, and think outside the box. Since this project began, Math+Music has curated a series of events at the National Museum of Mathematics (MOMATH) in NYC and grown beyond the United States after interest grew overseas. Math+Music has also appeared in Scientific American, live on Fox5 TV, NY Post, and launched internationally in Hong Kong and Istanbul. The Math+Music team has hosted talks and workshops in NYC schools and collaborated with Professors from Brown, Harvard, and Princeton.

Amanda attended several Math+Music panels in NYC while covering Events across NYC for Nooklyn’s Events column and helped promote each event which average about 100-150 attendees per panel. From colorful images to engaging GIFs and short form videos, Amanda helped the Marketing/PR team promote the panels hosted at the MOMATH and regularly contributed to social media coverage of Math+Music events.
