KettleSpace transforms high-end restaurants and underutilized hotel spaces into perk-filled co-working spaces during their downtime, connecting freelancers, entrepreneurs, and businesses across NY. Initially hired as a Community Manager, less than a month into working with the KettleSpace team Amanda helped close the deal for a weekly breakfast event and partnership with a NY chapter of Business Network International (BNI), a global networking organization with 254,206+ members in 8,968+ local chapters worldwide. Soon after, Amanda was tapped to lead Events for the company and became a hybrid Community Manager & Event Supervisor.
At KettleSpace, Amanda excelled at wearing several hats across multiple departments, and quickly took on more responsibilities as a jack-of-all-trades Manager across community, events and partnerships, operations, finance, customer service, and business development for the small startup. As the Events, Partnerships, and & Event Supervisor, Amanda led on strategy and production for all KettleSpace events and programming, partnerships, and was the point of contact for finances and account management for both individual community members and teams with group packages.
Amanda radiated energy every morning even before coffee was brewed and the the KS Cafe was set up at each location. She helped close deals with several team packages for small teams and startups looking for space to grow their business and hold meetings. She made sure every member felt seen and taken care of no matter what they were looking for - a fresh refill on some artisanal coffee, space to host a workshop, WiFi issues, hiring a new team member, or recommendations for a new cooking class or jazz bar. Amanda was an integral part of connecting KettleSpace members to each other and growing the community across NY.
From early morning breakfast events for BNI, to breakfasts with VCs and investors and from KS Headshot Happy Hours, to new venue launches Amanda trained the team on prepping for and successfully hosting simultaneous events across multiple KS locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Amanda brainstormed new initiatives, established company-wide protocols, and created playbooks for the Customer Service and Finance/IT teams. As the company grew and looked to outsource KS customer service, Amanda trained and managed a remote team of agents based in Cebu, Philippines as well as Community Managers based in NY.
