C3 NYC
A friend invited Amanda to attend C3 NYC at the Music Hall of Williamsburg and she fell in love with the music and the people. It’s impossible to attend a service at C3 NYC without several friendly faces coming up to welcome you. Amanda started attending C3 NYC - Midtown’s weekly Wednesday dinner parties in her neighborhood in order to know the C3 community more and when she talked about her background in advertising and art, everyone recommended she join the C3 Creative Team.
As part of the C3 Creative Team and the C3 Williamsburg and Downtown Manhattan Welcoming Teams from 2016 - 2017, Amanda welcomed people to the service, helped organize brunches after services, brainstormed concepts for new C3 series, and helped out on shoot days. The first shoot she helped the team with was the “Doves & Vipers” series and involved several pigeons flapping around the studio and a small rose gold snake draped along the models’ shoulders. It was an exciting intro to the creative force within the C3 Team. She helped install custom installations in the lobby of the Music Hall of Williamsburg for a handful of series that C3 community members could interact with from a portable clear glass booth to a massive balloon sculpture.
As the church grew and a new venue for more services was on the horizon, Amanda was a valuable part of the community that helped C3 NYC launch its third venue in Downtown Manhattan at Bowery Ballroom. She helped promo the new venue with the C3 Street team, walking around the neighborhood and handing out flyers to passerby. She attended Sunday services and helped welcome people to the new space and helped ensure even across different boroughs of NY, the people and atmosphere was always going to be welcoming and cheery for new and old C3 community members alike who weren’t making their way to the Williamsburg and Bushwick locations.
As part of C3 NYC, Amanda learned the importance of intimate gatherings and invitations coupled with larger scale productions. She honed her production experience and dove into photography and videography as she shot B-roll footage for C3 Stories and on set for concept shoots, from videos that showcased various C3 community members’ stories every week during service, to concept videos for various themes/series throughout the year.
